James Brindley Team at Hookstone Park
Established in the delightful English spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire in 1936, James Brindley of Harrogate is still owned and managed by the Grafton family from there, with a purpose built office and wholesale facility on the outskirts of the town complemented by a period town centre lifestyle store.
The company is chaired by Mark Grafton who runs the business with his sons Richard and Simon. The family shares a proud ancestry and is related to the company's namesake, James Brindley, a notable engineer during the Industrial Revolution, famous for engineering the first canals and aqueducts in the 1800's and to the composer, Edward Elgar.
James Brindley of Harrogate is now recognised as one of Europe's fastest growing fabric houses and has gained an enviable reputation in particular for exquisite hand printed and embroidered silks.
